We toasted Allure‘s Best of Beauty winners at the World Trade Center on Monday night. But first, we drank champagne 30-some floors down in the Allure offices. Then we had a little more champagne. Then we touched up our hair, makeup, and even fragrance with—you guessed it—our favorite Best of Beauty winners for taking things up a notch at night. Here are the products that helped the beauty team (that’s us above!) get party-ready—quick.
Best Lengthening Mascara: Make Up For Ever Smoky Stretch Mascara. “I piled it on over mascara that I’d put on that morning, and amazingly, it didn’t clump,” says Jenny Bailly, beauty director.
Best Concealer for Undereye Circles: Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir. “I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, and I had a zit. I put the concealer on over my dark circles and the gross zit that had the amazing timing of showing up just before the party, and it did the trick,” says Kristin Perrotta, executive editor.
Best Hair Fragrance: Dior Miss Dior Hair Mist. “It refreshes the fragrance I put on in the morning, but it isn’t overpowering the way some fragrances can be if you layer them on later in the day. I especially love it for a party setting—as you move and talk to people, it moves around with you,” says Jenna Rosenstein, beauty writer.
Best Waterproof Eyeliner: Chanel Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner. “I discovered it during testing, and I was so passionate about it winning. It smudges really nicely into an instant smoky eye,” says Lexi Novak, associate beauty editor.
Best Dry Shampoo: Klorane Dry Shampoo With Oat Milk. “I have really fine hair, so by the end of the day, it’s kind of matted down strangely, even if it wasn’t that morning. I spray this at the roots, let it absorb the oil while I do my makeup, and then scrunch it in for volume,” says Kristie Dash, assistant editor.
Best Hair Spray: R + Co Vicious Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray. “I’d used a curling iron that morning, but my waves had fallen—so I went with it and used this hair spray to mess them up even more by spraying it over the length of my hair and then shaking it out,” says Maddie Aberman, editorial assistant.
Best Citrus Scent: Hermès Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. “I think of fragrance as an accessory. I was wearing an awesome sparkly dress, and the citrusy floral of the fragrance complemented that perfectly,” says Casey Kohlberg, freelance assistant.
