Packing is definitely my least favorite part of any trip. I am not one for planning ahead, so my toiletry bag is usually a jumble of things I grabbed at the last minute. Then on the way to the airport I remember all the things I really should have brought. You can imagine my excitement when I caught word of the new Benefit Glam-and-Go kiosks that are popping up in airport terminals around the country—the vending machines are stocked with some of my favorite brands. But they’re not the only places at the terminal where you can do your last-minute beauty shopping. Here are three beauty kiosks I would be happy to see during my next airport visit.
Benefit Cosmetics “Glam Up & Away.” These adorable pink vintage buses will be popping up in over 25 major airports this fall, including Austin, Las Vegas, and JFK’s JetBlue terminal. The automated retail kiosks are stocked with the brand’s 30 best-selling products—including Benefit They’re Real! Mascara and Benefit The PoreFessional Primer. The display screen gives users detailed product descriptions, beauty tips, tricks for application, and even lets you watch short videos before you buy. (This one features one of our favorite post-flight picks for a pearly glow after that drying airplane air, Benefit Watt’s Up! Soft Focus Highlighter.)
3FLOZ. Next month, this online retailer will launch 25 travel-friendly retail shops in top domestic airports around the country. The kiosks will offer a variety of beauty and personal-care products in TSA-approved containers. The best part is that the kiosks will offer a mix of prestige and mass brands, including some of my favorites, like Malin + Goetz, Yes to Carrots, Jack Black, Burt’s Bess, and Klorane, so you no longer have to settle on that mystery brand from the newsstand just because you forgot your favorite at home.
Sephora. These beauty vending machines carry 50 of Sephora’s more popular products across a wide range of brands (Dior, Korres, and Bare Escentuals among them). While I did miss the ability to swipe and swatch colors like I can in the store, the kiosk did house an impressive range of shades for eyes, lips, and face and even included some crucial makeup tools. It’s not exactly bargain shopping but it sure is quick and convenient, especially if you’re desperate for your favorite lipstick.
