Our 5 Favorite Tinted Moisturizers…Ever!

Ever since BB creams burst onto the beauty scene, tinted moisturizers have taken a back seat to their souped-up cousins. The thing is, a lot of people still love tinted moisturizers (myself included), and for good reason. I actually consider them to be the best way to achieve that no-makeup makeup finish to your skin. That is, if you have a good one. To help you weed through all options out there, I rounded up the Allure beauty team’s top tinted moisturizers of all time.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20. There’s a reason we keep coming back to Mercier’s classic formula: It has enough pigment to cover minor imperfections, and it feels like silk, protects against the sun, and leaves your skin looking like a better, prettier version of itself.

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint. This is the product I would take with me to a deserted island—by the gallon. It contains fairy dust (a.k.a. light-reflecting pigments) that gives you that otherworldly Jennifer Lopez glow. The best part is, because it’s oil-free, even ladies with oily T-zones can use it without looking greased up. (Women with very oily skin, however, might find it makes them a bit too glow-y.)

Chanel Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Fluid. We’re obsessed with everything from Chanel’s Les Beiges line—but especially their tinted moisturizer with SPF 15. It contains hyaluronic acid to leave your skin feeling soft and plump, while the semi-dewy finish won’t make your skin look the least bit shiny.

Beautycounter Tint Skin. The all-natural brand just launched tinted moisturizer this week, and trust me, it’s really freakin’ good. The creamy formula gives skin a fresh-looking finish, and I find it contains more pigment than usual, which means it does a good job of covering redness, zits, and even dark circles. Plus, the fact it’s free from any sketchy ingredients is an added bonus.

Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer. Not too shiny, not too sheer, and not too slippery, this tinted moisturizer is one of the few we’ve found to be truly hydrating, and it’s available in an impressive range of shades. Oh, and it contains SPF 20, to boot.
