You probably know Rashida Jones from her six-year stint on Parks and Recreation, where she played Amy Poehler’s BFF Ann Perkins. But after watching what we’re about to unfold below, you may never look at her as the same sweet, innocent TV nurse ever again. And you know, what? That’s totally cool with us.
We recently invited the actress to the Allure headquarters to test-drive some of the weirdest, wackiest, and straight-up strange beauty products piling up in the beauty closet for our latest installment of our popular video series, Comedians Review Beauty Products. No, we’re not talking about lipstick and bronzer, we’re talking products Jones hilariously refers to as “face bras” and “sex toys.” “Do all beauty products look like sex toys?” she quips. “Not my fault they all look like sex toys.”
For example: When Jones puts the Face Slimmer Anti-Wrinkle Mouth Piece (yes, that’s the product’s actual name) — a device that doubles as a torture device when shoved into the mouth — to the test, the results were, well, just as you’d expect them to be: laughable at best. While wearing the full-mouth tool, she attempts complete sentences with little to no success. “I think this is like, ‘build your mouth muscles,’ Or, ‘learn how to become a ventriloquist, because you can’t say your consonants.'”
And when she slapped what she refers to as a “face bra,” the Joly Full Face Style Anti-wrinkle Face Slimming Cheek Mask Lift, things got interesting… and confusing, TBH. “Come on! Is it like a nippleless bra?,” she asks. “Oh! It’s like a face bra! What is wrong with people? By the way, I think “face bra” is a better name for it, so listen up.” Same.
For the full review, tune in to the video above, where you’ll catch Jones reviewing the coolest (and sometimes out-right bizarre) beauty products we could scrounge up from the Allure beauty closet. Get ready for some major belly-aching laughs.
