Awards season is coming to an end, and it’s safe to say that it’s been filled with plenty hair-related surprises. (Let’s not forget Kerry Washington’s magical Golden-Globes highlights.) The Oscars 2017 has been no different. When we saw Jessica Biel on the red carpet, we first fell in love with how her sleek, middle-parted updo looked from the front. The streamlined finish complemented her sequined gold KaufmanFranco gown and feather-like Tiffany & Co. necklace perfectly. Then, Biel turned around so we could see the back. The sight of the unexpected twist made our jaws drop. Just as Justin Timberlake said in a red-carpet interview, everything about his wife is perfection tonight. We couldn’t agree more, JT. (His catchy tune “Can’t Stop The Feeling” from Trolls is nominated for Best Original Song BTW.)
Instead of opting for a classic chignon, the actress’s hairstylist for the night, Adir Abergel, created a more intricate look. He twisted her hair into a gorgeous loop. On Instagram, Abergel wrote that he took inspiration from geishas for the sophisticated circular style. We’re guessing a dozen bobby pins and half a car of hairspray was needed to make sure the loop stays frizz-free and structured all night long.

Biel’s makeup was just amazing, too. She’s the latest celeb to get on the peach trend. Her coordinating peachy lipstick and blush looked effortless and soft in comparison to her hair. They didn’t steal her hair’s spotlight. Let’s be real, that loop deserves all the attention.
