You Can Buy a $300 Dupe of Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress at H&M

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May 19 nuptials creeping ever closer, royal wedding fever is hitting its peak. Luckily, H&M has Anglophiles on a budget all covered with a brand-new dupe of Kate Middleton’s iconic wedding dress for an affordable price. The fast fashion retailer recently debuted a new Wedding Shop that features everything from the perfect tulle flower girl dress to satin camisoles and floral bridal shower dresses. However, as noted by the Today show, the brand’s Long Lace dress style is stealing the spotlight for its royal inspiration.

For her 2011 wedding to Prince William, Middleton wore an elegant gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen that featured long lace sleeves and an A-line silhouette. The H&M version, which is now available exclusively online, has a similar lace bodice and even includes the V-neck shape that made Middleton’s choice especially unique. While Middleton’s designer dress cost a reported $430,000, the H&M version will run brides-to-be just $299. Score!

Even more royal dupes will likely start popping up after May 19 in the style of whatever dress Markle wears down the aisle. While the Suits actress’s wedding wardrobe has been kept under wraps, it has been reported that Prince Harry’s betrothed will choose a design that embraces both sleeves and lace, much like her soon-to-be sister-in-law. However, just like the savvy H&M shopper, Markle is expected to mind her budget and come in under the future queen’s price tag, which is great news for fall brides looking to steal the American duchess’s style.

Until we catch the first glimpse of Markle’s gown, if you’re looking for more royal inspiration, there’s another dress in the H&M wedding shop that looks strikingly similar to Pippa Middleton’s Giles Deacon–designed gown and is priced at just $250. Whichever royal (or royal-adjacent) dupe you choose for your own white dress affairs, you’re sure to stay under the $32 million price tag of a real royal wedding — while looking just as stylish.
