Kendra Scott may be known for her gorgeous jewelry, but it appears the Austin-based designer may have her eyes on the beauty space. In 2016, the company launched gemstone-inspired nail polish shades) that could be mixed and matched with her earrings, rings, and necklaces. And starting today, Scott is coming out with Kendra Scott candles, which we’re going to bet that for the home good-obsessed, will give even the finest baubles a run for their money.
An extension to her home line, Kendra Scott’s candle collection plays off the brand’s heritage, using gemstones as inspiration. “When it comes to personal style, what you place in your home is as important as what you wear,” Scott says in a press release for the launch. “With the new candle collection, you can choose a mood unique to any room and moment.”
Close your eyes and you’d swear you were sniffing a fine perfume, not a candle; credit a partnership with fragrance expert and perfume strategist (as she’s sometimes called) Ann Gottlieb, who helped create each of the four sophisticated scents. (Gottlieb has worked with brands like Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta on their perfume lines.) “They represent the multitude of memories, feelings, and sensations gemstones inherently arouse,” says Gottlieb of the unique fragrances. There’s Rose Quartz, a light floral, accented with sweet notes of vanilla. Malachite is warm and woodsy, blending amber and frankincense, while (our personal favorite) Amethyst, marries the perfect balance of fresh blackberry and lilac. Rounding out the collection is the Kendra Scott signature scent, an uplifting lily-based fragrance.
As to be expected, the candles look as chic as they smell. Soy wax is poured into an opaque handcrafted glass, in both a votive size ($25 with a 30-hour burn time) a larger tumbler with a satin brass lid ($65, 60-hour burn time). There’s also a set of three votives ($70). The outer packaging plays off each gemstone, with rich colors and designs corresponding to each gemstone-inspired scent, making these an ideal gift — no wrapping required! Whether you’re into candles, fragrance, gemstones, home decor, or all of the above, you’ll want to get your hands on these newbies, stat.
