For beauty lovers, playing with hair and makeup looks that are very different from your everyday style is the best part about Halloween. But with October 31 quickly approaching, time is running out to plan out your costume. As with many costumes, getting the hair right is an abosolute must for nailing your All Hallows’ Eve lewk. Drawing a blank on what to do for the big night? We’ve got you. Below, a list of the best Halloween hair tutorials from YouTube that will look better (and in some cases, more natural) than just slapping on a wig.
1. Britney Spears from her “…Baby One More Time” music video
If you’ve never considered dressing up as a school girl as a last-minute Halloween costume, we’re not sure you can be trusted. Just kidding! But seriously, if you’ve procrastinated on getting your Halloween costume together (kind like you did on your homework in school), take your generic school girl costume to the next level and Britney-fy it! Put your hair up in two braided pigtails, add some pink pom-pom hair ties, and you’re a walking ’90s dream.
2. Beyoncé’s sectioned pigtails from her Lemonade visual album
Still not over all the amazing hair from Beyoncé’s Lemonade visual album? Neither are we. Take a note from the Queen Bee’s “Love Drought” video and recreate these sectioned pigtails. The tutorial even demonstrates how to blend blonde extensions into your hair to truly bring out your inner Yoncé.

Hairstylist Amanda Ozard’s unicorn hair tutorial made a splash on the internet, so we would be remiss not to include it here. The tutorial, which you can find on Super Deluxe’s YouTube channel, includes the color process she went through for that pastel hue. It’s your choice if you want to mimic her hair color or keep to your natural hue, but you will need to purchase a cone to help shape your unicorn horn.
