If there’s one thing that takes an ordinary hairstyle to next-level glam, it’s definitely a touch of metallic glimmer. Or, in some situations, a lot of metallic glimmer.
For proof, look no further than Draya Michele’s silvery bun that she showed off at the ESPY Awards yesterday (July 11). The designer and model hit the red carpet in a slinky black Jonathan Simkhai gown that boasted spaghetti straps, a deep v-neck, and a thigh-high slit up the side. But it was her hairline that truly caught the eye of photographers, as she sported slicked-back silver foils along the entire length of her extreme side-part. The shiny metal tapered off at the nape of her neck, where her hair was tied back in a low bun. The look was simultaneously classic and modern, with a space-age twist, and we’re definitely thinking about copying it for our next glamorous event.

The metallic hair trend has popped up on red carpets before; earlier this spring, Brie Larson showed up at the Met Gala with gold foils attached to her updo, sparking images of Belle during the climactic ballroom scene of Beauty and the Beast. And Cara Delevingne attended the same event with a silvery bald head that was worthy of all the photos in the galaxy (and plenty of sweet imitations to boot). It seems as though the shimmering trend is going to sparkle all summer long. TBH, we’re totally here for it.
