It’s almost Halloween, which means a candy overload for most of us. Not exactly healthy, but whatever, right?
If sugar isn’t your thing, how about this for a yummy new hair color: golden toffee? It’s sublime, simple, and totally subtle; a super elegant blend of multiple shades of dark blonde and rich brown.
Think supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who is a pro at this seamless look.
It works, says celebrity hairstylist Kristan Serafino, because “regardless of the season, your hair will always look like it’s kissed by the sun.”
And surprise! It’s actually easy to get this look. “Ask your colorist for highlights or balayage to create a golden glow. The tone of the highlights can be personalized to best suit your skin tone,” says Serafino.
As someone who’s been stuck in a hair rut for the last year, the prospect of change is a little daunting. I keep thinking of maintenance, of having to get roots touched up, and the time commitment that requires. And yet, I’ve never regretted switching things up once I’ve left the salon.

But Serafino says it’s always a good idea to embrace the new.
“I always tell my clients, ‘You wouldn’t wear the same dress every day of your life, so why wear your hair the same? You should regularly evolve your hairstyle and color — as you do with your style.”
