Halle Berry has a bob…and guys, I’m a little worried. If the godmother of supershort, sexy hair forsakes the pixie, that haircut may very well fade away like Marty McFly in a Back to the Future photo. That said, the Extant actress’s new look (cut from longer extensions) is pretty amazing. Ditto Sarah Michelle Gellar’s new textured bob, which debuted on her Twitter account. Both styles are further proof that midlength hair doesn’t have to be mousy and plain, and it can have tons of body. Here’s the mind-blowingly easy way to get the look:
For a wavy bob, Gellar’s hairstylist Mara Roszak advises mashing a volumizing mousse into towel-dried hair. “I like to use a lightweight styling cream to tame the curls, twisting them for a little bit of piecey-ness,” she tells Allure. If you have naturally wavy hair, you can probably just let it air-dry. (Yay laziness!) If you don’t, fake it by twisting sections of hair around a large-barrel curling iron for just a sec.
