Even though it’s been some time since Khloé Kardashian debuted her short bob, she admits in a new post on her website that she’s “still trying to get used to [it].” Fortunately she (and her stylists) have figured out a way to make her feel like her old self: volume.
Kardashian has been using back-combing her hair so she gets the illusion of fullness. And of course the only comb that does the trick is the Kardashian Beauty Comb: “I promise it’s not just because my name is on it, LOL!!! It gets out all the tangles when I just want to use it to brush my hair, gives me major volume when I backcomb it and makes my part straight as an arrow,” writes Kardashian. Comb devotion is kind of a new category of beauty obsession for us. Anyone out there want to make a case for their favorite?
Her first trick is to tease her underlying layers for mega-volume. “After curling your hair, use the Kardashian Beauty comb to tease the roots that are underneath the outermost layer of your hair. Hide the back-combed area with a deep side part,” writes Kardashian. (See below—and yes, these pictures feature Kardashian with long hair, but she swears these are her short-hair tips.)
The second way she uses her comb is to back-comb her crown for “modern pageant hair.” She works the hair at the crown of the head, then smooths down the top layer of her hair. In the front, “use the pointy end of the Kardashian Beauty comb to break up curls for a beachy, lived-in look,” instructs Kardashian.
There’s also the raked-back look. Kardashian back-combs her hair at the crown and temples and continuously sprays hair spray through her hair as she combs. The results look like this:
And finally, Kardashian uses the end of her comb in a way we’re all familiar with: a perfectly straight part. And we’ve got to say, her part is pretty flawless:
