As a beauty editor, one of the most frequently asked questions I get is “What eye cream should I use?” And because part of my job is testing a ton of eye creams, eye serums, eye masks, and every eye product imaginable, I’m always ready with an answer: Sunday Riley Start Over Active Eye Cream (a personal fave), as well as Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel and Chanel Le Lift eye cream (both Best of Beauty winners). But after yesterday, I might be adding a new product to the list. I chatted with a very different kind of beauty expert—the kind that starts with a K and ends with –ardashian—and ended up with a new, and quite unique, recommendation. Yes, Kourtney Kardashian divulged her and her sister’s favorite eye treatment, and it’s not what you’d expect.
“Kim and I have always used oil on our eyes,” she told me during a one-on-one chat at a Manuka Doctor event in New York City. Full disclosure: Kourtney is a new spokeswoman for the brand, but she’s been a Manuka honey devotee for years, religiously adding it to her avocado pudding recipe every morning at breakfast. But I digress; let’s get back to beauty. I asked her if she meant that they use oil to remove eye makeup. Nope. “Instead of using eye cream, we’ll put it under our eyes and on our eyelids. I love the way that it smells, I love the consistency of it, and I love that it’s natural,” she said.
She alternates between two facial oils in the Manuka Doctor family—one is called Brightening and the other is Replenishing. “I use them pretty equally. I have them both in my drawer, and I’ll just pick either one.”
So there you have it. You might not be able to get your hands on a Kylie Lip Kit, but there’s a Kardashian-approved eye product that sits right in the skin-care aisle at your local drugstore.
