New research shows that looking good pays off, quite literally. A Harvard study found that the beautiful generally had better educations, were more confident, and bottom line, made more money. “Little is known about why there are income disparities between the good-looking and the not-so-good-looking,” said a researcher who analyzed the data. “We’ve found that, even accounting for intelligence, a person’s feeling of self-worth is enhanced by how attractive they are and this, in turn, results in higher pay.” Okay, makes sense. Take note: While the effects of intelligence on income were somewhat stronger than those of facial beauty, looks combined with intelligence were an unquestionably kick-ass combination.
