& Other Stories, the younger, chicer sister brand of H&M, made its debut in the States this week. And while their e-commerce site has almost everything you could ever want (fuzzy sweaters, stacking rings, leather boots, cotton-scented shower cream—the stuff of dreams!), you’ll need to make your way to the new SoHo store in New York City to see my favorite product from the brand: the nail polish.
Their polish is glossy, colorful, and creamy, and at only $9 a bottle, it’s a total steal. And here’s why: The brand doesn’t believe in a church-and-state divide when it comes to beauty. The seasonal beauty launches from & Other Stories come to life in the very same room as the clothing and accessories. Which is why you’ll notice, as illustrated above, that the nail shades coordinate with the clothing. How cool is that? The bright shade above, called Say Pink, is the same one that appears on the shopping bags, some accessories, and the coat pictured above (which, by the way, is wool and mohair and $245). All of their nail polishes follow this unique color philosophy, and it’s the first time we’ve seen a brand integrate beauty so seamlessly with fashion. Consider us on board.
The nail polish and perfume are only available in stores for now, but the rest of the bath and body lines, as well as candles,, are available online at stories.com. And keep an eye out—the company will be bringing their color cosmetics (which we hear from our European friends are kick-ass) across the pond very soon. I can’t wait!
