Between genetics and a habit of staying up until 2 a.m. watching K-dramas, my under-eye circles are as dark and deep as black holes. I’ve used dozens of concealers to disguise them, and every single one of them eventually creases by the time I leave the house. Someone on the MakeupAddiction subreddit just made a genius and incredibly affordable suggestion, though. According to a Redditor who goes by anhuys, Catrice’s $5.99 Liquid Camouflage Concealer basically doesn’t crease.
In a recent post, anhuys explained their struggle to find a concealer that doesn’t leave creasing around their under-eye area. They tried all the popular options like the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser, and even Tarte’s beloved Shape Tape Concealer. They even topped them with translucent powders and layered them over The Ordinary’s 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil. The best combo she came up with was a bit of the oil, a dab of Shape Tape, and a dusting of RCMA’s No-Color Powder. “But that still looked worse than wearing no concealer,” anhuys wrote. Creasing happened almost immediately, they added.
They recently discovered Catrice’s Liquid Camouflage Concealer, though. It’s so effective that setting powder isn’t even needed, and now they consider it their new “holy grail” product. All anhuys does is smooth a bit of The Ordinary’s oil on their dark circles before tapping on the concealer with their fingers. “It slightly creases but doesn’t create these big exposed lines,” they wrote. “The creasing is hardly noticeable and doesn’t get worse throughout the day.” The Redditor also said that Catrice’s concealer is significantly better than Shape Tape. Wow. I need to try this product out ASAP. Bobbi Brown’s $30 Instant Full Cover Concealer has been my go-to lately, but I’m almost out of it.
You can shop Catrice’s Liquid Camouflage Concealer now on ulta.com for $5.99. Unfortunately, it’s only available in three shades of beige. Yup, this all sounded too good to be true, right? Alas, I suggest trying out my Bobbi Brown suggestion if you don’t fall into the beige shade range.
