After completely taking over our beauty routines in 2016, our love for unicorns lives on in the new year. Christian Louboutin Beauty Loubichrome Nail Polish pretty much just cemented it. We’re guaranteed fans of anything the high-fashion company makes for our lips or tips, mostly because everything, such as its perfume bottles and lip glosses, looks like it belongs in the beauty museum of our dreams. However, these metallic polishes are definitely not something we expected from Christian Louboutin.
The signature spike applicator of Christian Louboutin Beauty’s polishes is typically silver. (Louboutin told Allure in a past interview that he modeled it after the highest heel he’s ever made, in case you were wondering.) But with the metallic polishes, the applicator got a holographic, oil spill-like upgrade. TBH, it looks just like a unicorn horn, and we can’t stop staring at it. Do you think the genius designer behind it saw the unicorn makeup brushes that blew up Instagram a couple months ago?

Not only are we mesmerized by the packaging, the actual polish is pretty amazing, too. You don’t need to apply almost a dozen coats to create an opaque, metallic look like many shimmery shades. Instead, the formula is intensely pigmented. You can use just one coat for the full unicorn effect. As you can see above, the Christian Louboutin Beauty Loubichrome Nail Polish comes in three duo-chrome shades. Loubichrome I is a lemon-lime with silver and gold shimmer. I paired it with a deep burgundy color for a half-moon-style manicure, and the shade took on more of a yellow-gold hue. There’s also a cherry red with a cotton-candy pink shift called Loubichrome II, as well as my personal favorite, Loubichrome III. The violet color is flecked with red, lilac, and blue glitter, and I want to wear it every day of 2017.
At $30 each, these polishes are the cheapest items in the Christian Louboutin Beauty collection. So if you have yet to have some Loubs in your life (or need some more), you can shop them now at net-a-porter.com.
