French women don’t have bad beauty days—especially not the interminably adorable Audrey Tautou. I can’t help you master the accent, but here’s a primer to recreating her beauty look at the 17th annual Rendez-Vous with French Cinema screening of Delicacy. Ooh, la la!
__Vermilion lips:__Reddish-orange shades, like the one Tautou is wearing here, are the most universally flattering for an orange lipstick. Dolce & Gabbana The Lipstick in Venere may look daring, but it works on everyone. Before you apply it, buff away flakes (you can use a lip scrub, or a Q-tip dipped in Visine), apply lip balm, and then blot. It sounds annoying, but vibrant color on chapped lips is one of the most unattractive looks there is.
Blush:__ Tautou isn’t skimping on blush just because she’s wearing a bright lip color. Create a healthy flush with a peachy powder blush like M.A.C. Sheertone Blush in Pinch O’ Peach.
Brows: They’ve got to be strong. Whether yours are blonde or brunette, you can make them look bold (or at least bolder) with a gray-taupe powder brow filler like Joey Healy Luxe Brow Powder in Corduroy. Keep the eye makeup simple: use pearly white or gold on the lids and inner corners, taupe in the crease and along the bottom lashes, and plenty of black mascara.
