You know you’ve made it as a makeup artist when the Kardashian/Jenner clan relies on you to get them ready for the red carpet. Hrush Achemyan, a 29-year-old makeup artist, has been on the family’s speed dial for the past two months. “I’ve done makeup on basically all of them,” says Achemyan. “They use a group of makeup artists, and there’s so many of us to go around that you get a new person a day.”
She’s worked with Kim, Khloé, Kylie, and Kendall, who each have their own preferences. For instance, Achemyan says Kylie likes to collaborate since she’s such a beauty expert. But Kendall, whom Achemyan calls “naturally beautiful,” prefers a mostly bare face for day to day. And Khloé and Kim “have the same kind of look, except Khloé is more intense on the contouring. She always wants to look more defined.” To get their signature look, Achemyan recommends the Mehron Celebré Pro HD Make-Up 20 Color Palette, and she loves__Too Faced Snow Bunny Luminous Bronzer__ for highlighting.
As for the family’s signature, perfectly spaced-apart lashes? Achemyan hand-makes the fringe herself. But if you don’t have access to Achemyan, she has a few tips. “For an extra-wispy effect, apply Huda Beauty Alyssa #2 lashes onto a full set of fake lashes,” says Achemyan. “When you apply mascara to the lashes, make sure you start right under your tear duct and that the mascara starts right at the bottom of your lash. Also, don’t apply mascara straight up your lashes; wiggle the wand up them. I do about three strokes on each eye and that is it.” See? You’re only five small steps away from being one one-hundredth Kardashian.
