If there’s one person you can trust when it comes to false lashes, it’s Huda Kattan. The founder of Huda Beauty makes lashes that have people all over the world obsessed. And when celebrities like Eva Longoria and just about every single Kardashian rely on you for flawless fringe, you know a thing or two about how to use them.
This weekend, Kattan posted a video to Instagram showing a beauty blogger using the Huda Beauty lashes, along with a tip about how they can enhance your eye shape: “Tip: to make your eyes have more of an almond shape, pair your wing liner with lashes that are extended/longer at end of the strip.”

Sure, it makes sense that thick, superlong lashes can make your eyes look bigger, but we’re betting you didn’t realize false lashes could also change your eye shape. I reached out to Kattan to get more tips from her about getting the most out of your false lashes.
Can you expand a bit on why false lashes that are longer at the end of the strip help create almond-shaped eyes? “Generally speaking, lashes that extend the outer edges of the eye really allow for an elongated eye. Any eye shape looks bigger when the outer corners come out, and that keeps everything in balance.”
What are the other ways false lashes change someone’s eye shape? “Finding the right lash for your eye shape is one of the most important parts of wearing false lashes. That means accentuating factors of your eyes that you love the most and minimizing flaws. For instance, women with even, deep-set eyes or excess space between their lid and brows love our Lana lashes. I cannot even explain how many women have emailed me saying our Lana lashes have transformed the way their eyes look by downplaying the extra lid space on their eyes.”
What’s your advice for making eyes appear bigger? “Our Samantha lashes work for nearly every eye shape and really elongate the outer edges and also open the eyes, and they’re really good if someone wants just a general pick-me-up. Lashes almost always open up the eyes in some capacity, but getting the right shape is really key. People usually shouldn’t choose lashes that are too round.”
What are the false-lash hacks everyone should know? “There’s nothing wrong with stacking lashes. I love using our Alyssa individual lashes and just placing them in spaces that need to be filled. It’s also crucial to have symmetry. I always push the inner corners down and outer corners up—that looks good on almost anyone.”
