Did your eye cream mysteriously disappear? Your favorite nail place all booked up? It might be your boyfriend’s fault. Apparently, men are using more beauty products than ever (or maybe just admitting to it). A study of 1,000 men in the US and UK called “The State of Men” tracked down exactly what beauty products ‘they’re using. Of the participants, 54 percent used skin-care products like eye cream and moisturizer (totally normal), while 11 perfect wore bronzer regularly (really?). And a whole ton of the men also copped to regular manicures, eyebrow waxing, and fake tanning.
While I don’t predict my boyfriend stealing my Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronze & Glow Matte Bronzer & Cheek Tint anytime soon, Tom Ford is releasing a line of cosmetics for men this fall. The gender-neutral nine-piece collection will have a cleanser, eye treatment, mud mask, concealer, and liquid bronzing gel—meaning male grooming has finally hit the mainstream. Or at least the Tom Ford version of mainstream.
We aren’t sure: would you buy the man in your life makeup?
