Nudes—of the lipstick variety, of course—are getting edgier, better, and more inclusive than ever in 2017, and we are so here for it. So when we heard nude Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are dropping in a couple weeks, we freaked out a little bit. Sure, we are excited for all 25 of the upcoming shades. However, we love that Kat Von D is extending her nude selection so there are more to pick from for all skin tones. Yup, lipstick is kind of like foundation in that sense.
Personally, when it comes to nudes, I prefer a more brown tone instead of a pink-y hue that is my-lips-but-better. Jessica Haze’s Instagram video, which came up on my feed last night, solidified that. The makeup artist, who is popular on the social media platform for her edgy, unconventional looks, showed off swatches of all six of the new nude Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in a quick clip. In case you’re wondering why she is so lucky, it’s because she’s on Kat Von D’s beauty team. Haze works with the tattoo artist to promote the cruelty-free brand at makeup conventions, and most recently, they volunteered at farm animal rescue center together. Fun fact: One of the new Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks shades were inspired by Haze. The mauve-greige lipstick, which launch date has yet to be announced, is aptly called Haze.
In the video below, you can see the nude Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks being swiped onto actual lips, specifically Haze’s, before they launch next week. Hopefully this will make your shopping choices a bit easier.

I need Hawkwind (a sienna brown), like, yesterday. Ludwig (a fawn) and Ophelia (a chestnut) are convincing me to feel the my-lips-but-better fantasy, though. (There’s also Muneca for those who are into superlight pink nudes.) If you want to see the shades swatched on a more medium skin tone, Kat Von D Beauty posted this picture on their Instagram last week. Hopefully they will be swatched soon on a darker skin tone. I’m sure Crucifix (a deep chocolate) would be the perfect nude.
You’ll be able to shop all six individually, including the flash-sale Sanctuary, on January 24, and as a bunch in February on sephora.com and katvondbeauty.com.
