While the thought of anything holiday-related may be frightening considering it’s only October 5, allow us to officially get you stoked for gift-giving season: The Sarah Moon for Nars collection has officially dropped. Inspired by the 1927 science fiction film Metropolis, the legendary photographer designed a six-piece, limited-edition line to shop for your friends—or, you know, yourself. Ultimately, though, the line embraces femininity, with bold red lipsticks and plush false lashes.
In my humble opinion, the obvious star of the Sarah Moon for Nars collection is the Moon Matte Lipstick, a creamy, shine-free formula that has a seriously intense color payoff. It comes in three vibrant shades of red—raspberry, brick, and ruby—as well as a more demure rosy nude. Much like the rest of Nars’s products, the Sarah Moon collection lipstick tubes are sleek and sexy—not to mention perfect to toss in your purse before heading out for the day (or night). Similarly, you can match your lips to your nails with the three new nail polishes that come is almost identical shades of red. While that may feel a bit too matchy-matchy for some, I’m really feeling that look right now.
And while I’d never want to deter you from the Orgasm blush, an Allure Best of Beauty Hall of Fame winner because yes, it is that good, the Sarah Moon collection offers two fresh shades of blush. You can choose from Impudique, a coral pink with a pearlescent sheen, or Isadora, a frosty pale pink with the iciest touch of lavender shimmer.
But I’m most excited about the Duo Eyeshadows: The Quai Des Brumes duo comes with a metallic lavender-gray hue and a charcoal gray color that has flecks of gold shimmer, making it perfect for nailing a quick fresh take on the smoky eye. If your skin tone is a bit cooler (read: beige looks better on you than white), give the Indes Galantes duo a road test with its holographic bluish gray and a deep maroon for perfect, complementary lining.
If you’re looking for a more serious liner, the Sarah Moon collection offers two new shades of Nars’s Kohliner, the creamy, black matte liner stick perfect for getting that slept-in, sexpot look. But now, you can get the Kohliner in a shimmering graphite and a rust brown, and both are equally as great for tightlining eyes as they are for smudging, but have a softer effect that than OG black version. There are also two pairs of falsies: one for everyday wear, and one for more dramatic, evening looks. (Or you know, if you just want to feel fabulous.)
The Sarah Moon for Nars collection is available now exclusively on narscometics.com and starts at $20. We suggest you begin shopping stat—the limited-edition line won’t last forever, but maybe the graphite Kohliner will.
