If you’ve tried the Urban Decay Afterglow highlighters, then you know that the popular cosmetics company knows how to make a damn good highlighter. The new Urban Decay Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid takes the same shades Allure editors (and you, too) have fallen in love with and liquefied them. The brand has also added three other shades to the mix, and we’re just as obsessed with them.
If you haven’t yet graced your cheekbones with Sin, Fireball, or Aura, let us break them down for you. First of all, Fireball is a peach with a pink shift that looks good on basically every skin tone. Before it launched in powder highlighter form, I used to brush the eye-shadow version on my cheeks for a holographic effect. The new Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid has the same finish, just lighter, and doesn’t emphasize my pores as much. I dab a couple dots onto my face before blending them in with a damp Sigma Beauty 3DHD Blender. The result is an awesome soft glow that makes me look like I’m forever lit by a Diptyque candle.
Aura is holographic, too. The iridescent pink is almost transparent thanks to the serum-like formula, so it also flatters a variety of complexions without looking chalky or ashy. It just gives skin a hint of shimmery pink.
One of the new shades, Luminous, is the same way. It’s a gold that looks white in the tube. When rubbed onto skin, it has a clear base with golden shimmer.
As for Sin, it’s a champagne that’s a great go-to neutral shade for fair skin tones.
The other new shade is—wait for it—blue. Yes, a blue highlighter exists, and it’s awesome. Like purple, it’s superbrightening. We like to use it under our eyes under concealer after a sleepless night. The unexpected shade can also be used like any other highlighter on the high points of your face. When blended into skin, it melts into pores and becomes undetectably blue. You’ll look more lit-from-within and well rested than you will Smurfette.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Highlighting Fluids will be available on Friday, March 3 for $28 each, exclusively on sephora.com.
