Sheet masks aren’t going anywhere any time soon. See: sheet masks made by juicers, sheet masks for your lips, and dry versions of sheet masks. And now there are boob sheet masks. Yes, they’re specifically made for your breasts. It was only a matter of time.
Even though we’ve gotten past the sheet-mask scandal, some of the more specialized versions can seem a little questionable at first. Not the case with boob sheet masks, which essentially look like giant, cute pasties that are meant to go right over the center of your breast. (Some have cutouts for your nipples.) The best ones we’ve found come in two formulas, bamboo charcoal or Japanese silk, and are spiked with with ingredients like pearl powder and plant extracts for $10 a pop.

According to the experts, showing the skin on your breasts the same love you’ve been showing the skin on your face is not as wacky as it may sound. “Like any other part of the skin, the chest skin—especially the décolletage area, which is often exposed to sun and other elements—can show signs of aging,” says Sejal Shah, a dermatologist in New York City. “Beyond cleansing in the shower, this area is often overlooked, so the skin may appear dry or dull. A mask can provide some much-needed hydration as well as deliver antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and a host of other ingredients that have anti-aging, skin-brightening, and other benefits.”
It’s also worth mentioning that the skin on your chest has less oil glands than your face, which would explain why it dries out easier and looks craggier than your complexion. As such, your breasts deserve a little extra-special treatment—with emphasis on the special. “Skin on the breast, in particular the nipple and areola, can be very sensitive, so avoid anything too harsh,” says Shah. She warns against chemicals like phthalates—which have been linked with a variety of health concerns—that may be absorbed more readily by the thinner skin on your chest.
