Back by popular demand, the Frank Body Shimmer Scrub has returned! When the Australian skin- and body-care brand’s exfoliating blend of ground coffee and grapeseed oil married unicorn iridescence back in April, it wasn’t hard to believe that there would be a waiting list for it. Though, I hadn’t expected said list to be 90,000 people long.
Why all the hype? Zipped in an opalescent pouch was the rub-on, rinse-off coffee scrub mixed with mica for shimmer. It gave users a very fine sparkle, a slight highlight across one’s entire body. This time around, though, Frank Body multiplied the sparkle factor by three. “We have significantly upped the quantity of mica,” says Jess Hatzis, Frank Body co-founder. “More shimmer, more glow — you’ll notice the difference.”
Frank Body added gold mica to the mix (the first Shimmer Scrub only used silver mica). “We used both gold and silver to suit all skin tones,” Hatzis tells Allure. “This suits all skin tones.” So, if you’re like me, and want your highlighter to be seen from space, this scrub is for you.
In addition to the Shimmer Scrub returning (for $19.95), Frank Body will also be launching two new (!) products: a creamy body highlighter, called the Illuminator ($16.95), and a glimmering body oil, aptly named Magic Shimmer Oil ($21.95). The Illuminator is a coconut-oil based highlighter that also contains gold and silver mica.
Hatzis dabs it on wherever she feels like adding some shine. “I mix it into my moisturizer or BB Cream for an all-over glow,” she says. The Magic Shimmer Oil is a dry oil that blurs imperfections but also leaves behind a subtle glow.
To get your hands on any of these three (or the entire collection, sold as The Shimmer Bomb Kit for $49.95), you’re going to have to act fast. Simply sign up for the VIP waitlist at frankbody.com/shimmer, and once accepted, you’ll be able to shop for all the shimmer from November 1 through November 3.
And bad news to anyone who’s addicted to the scrub the way I am: Frank Body is capping sales for each customer at three scrubs. Go ahead, try to stop me from adding 10 to my cart — I dare ya.
