When it comes to skin care, we all have our own routines and things we like. Beyond our own routines, some of us enjoy watching pimple popping videos, likely as some sort of cathartic release (other folks get a bit queasy watching the same videos, which is totally understandable). However, some people want to go even further than just watching the action and want to do the popping themselves, as a recent Craigslist poster just revealed.
The post is titled “Let me Pop your Pimples” and was later shared on the /r/popping subreddit, as Insider reports. In it, the Craigslister writes, “I am one of the popaholic obsessed with watching videos of blackheads/pimples/sebaceous filaments being picked at or popped. I thought I give myself a holiday present this year and pop some pimples of my own. Only I don’t seem to have any. This is where you come in. If you have pimples/acne/blackheads and would allow me to pop them I would be extremely grateful.” Apparently, the gig comes with a wage of $45 an hour, which honestly isn’t too bad if you can get past the fact that you probably shouldn’t be having anyone besides a licensed aesthetician do extractions and the whole thing is a little strange.
The Craigslist post asks for pictures of the pimples that would be on the table for popping, and states they would use the Enilsa Brown method of popping with Q-tips, plus rubber gloves and a sterile needle (but only if you’re comfortable!). They’d also employ use of rubbing alcohol and Clearasil Deep Pore Acne Pads.
While it sounds like this popaholic is pretty committed to the process, it’s still a bit risky to volunteer for this one. Scarring and infections can happen with at-home popping (even if it isn’t your home), but I will say this — Craigslist never fails to provide a good story.
